Safety Dawan Landry in town meeting with the Bills
The former Jet, safety Dawan Landry is a free agent and is currently visiting with the Buffalo Bills.
Landry is a nine-year NFL veteran and a favorite of Bills coach Rex Ryan. Ryan has been Landry’s since all but two years since he came into the league with the Baltimore Ravens in 2006. Landry spent five seasons with the Ravens before signing with the Jaguars in 2011. After two seasons in Jacksonville, Landry was released and reunited with Ryan in New York with the Jets.
With the departure of safety Da’Norris Searcy the safety position is actually one of need for the Bills. It was expected that Duke Williams, Jonathan Meeks and Bacarri Rambo would compete for the role of safety, but Landry’s experience could be compelling for the Bills.
The biggest issue is that the Bills have very little in the way of cap space. Currently they have under $7.5 million in cap space.
