CJ Spiller: I love me some Rex Ryan now
C.J. Spiller will soon be a free-agent. There have been a lot of rumors about Spiller going to the Jets, however Spiller told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Tuesday that he would like to remain on the western side of the state playing for the Buffalo Bills.
“Obviously you’ve got to go with a place that fits your style of play,” Spiller said. “You’ve got to be comfortable with the offensive coordinator. Obviously you want to have a great quarterback. You want to be in a good situation. Location is not going to be on the list. Obviously you want to compete for championships because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. …pretty much having the chance to get to the postseason. … a contender and not just one-year wonder.”
“The Bills made a tremendous hire in Rex Ryan,” said Spiller. “Definitely I think Rex was the guy for the Buffalo Bills. I love me some Rex Ryan now.”
Spiller also likes what he has seen from Greg Roman:
“I have been studying some of the 49ers and what they did. He’s a guy who loves to run the football and as a running back that’s what you want a guy that likes to run the ball, no matter what,” said Spiller of Roman. “I think too many times if a run gets stopped for a two-yard gain some offensive coordinators get away from that. But coach Roman sticks to his guns. He’s going to be physical. You’ve got to excited about that as a runner.”
